Our values
We wish to share with our guests our values regarding hospitality, the environment and well-being, while respecting the natural world around us.
The environment

The Domaine de la Belle Verte is situated in a Natura 2000 protected area. Natura 2000 sites aim to ensure that biodiversity issues are better taken into account in human activities. These sites are designated to protect a number of habitats and species representative of European biodiversity.
Our project has been approved by the Architectes des Bâtiments de France, who are responsible for enforcing heritage, urban planning and environmental regulations.
We have chosen to take our environmental approach further:
- Phytosanitary sanitation: phytopurification is a natural sanitation process. The addition of plants allows wastewater to be decontaminated by the roots of plants with purifying properties. The process is 100% natural, odourless and aesthetically pleasing.
- Rainwater management and collection: we have installed two 10m³ tanks for toilet flushing and watering, which represents approximately two months of autonomy for these purposes. Rainwater collection is a simple and sustainable way to protect our planet's natural resources and delicate ecosystems. When we use collected rainwater, we conserve groundwater reserves, save the energy needed to make it drinkable, and reduce the harmful effects of rainwater runoff.
- Mulching: this principle addresses economic and environmental concerns by shredding plant waste on site:
-
Economic: by eliminating mowing waste (disposal and waste collection),
-
Environmental: by shredding grass and transforming it into green fertiliser.
- 1 ha of meadow: to mow or to graze? Our friends from the Théâtre Equestre de la Pommeraye help us by grazing several of their horses and ponies in our meadow. Our friends are called Quentin, Orio, Galopin...
- Composting: composting is the decomposition of kitchen and garden waste into compost. We are vegetarians: we have reduced the amount of our waste by 30%, and we benefit from a natural and rich fertiliser for the soil and plants.
- Faucet aerators: all our taps are fitted with faucet aerators, which are an (very inexpensive) accessory that injects air into the water, reducing the flow from the tap by up to 50%.
All showers at the Domaine are equipped with the Ecosmart system (60% water savings).
- Heat-pump dryer: allows a low-temperature drying thanks to its pump, which limits the rise in temperature of the appliance. This saves up to 60% in energy consumption, compared to a class A dryer.
- No-iron bed linen: our household linen comes from the LinVosges company, a French manufacturer who chooses their associates carefully, based on the origin of their products, their savoir-faire and their respect for ethical, social and environmental conditions. Laundry services are provided by a local company with socially responsible and eco-friendly practices.
- Reuse & sustainable furniture: we have favoured antique furniture that has been given a new look and crockery found in various flea markets as much as possible.
Our bed and sofa bed provider, the Fama company, manufactures all its products in Spain and recycles almost 100% of its industrial waste.
- Tree planting: eight trees have been planted on the Domaine and protected from the horses that wander around.
The Harmonie Végétale company planted: two apple trees, one red oak, one cherry tree, one pear tree, one tricolour beech, one chestnut tree and one plum tree.
We are considering replanting hedgerows and creating a small forest garden.
